User agreement
Version 2026-10-23.2
SceneBeam is provided by Jonas Risbrandt, a private individual in Sweden, Manskärsvägen 10, 388 92 Ljungbyholm. Contact: support@scenebeam.app.
1. Provider, scope and acceptance
This agreement is between you and Jonas Risbrandt (“we”, “us”), who provides the SceneBeam software and service. SceneBeam is the product name, not a company.
The agreement covers the free version, purchased scenes, Studio, Setup, projection and downloaded content. By creating an account or using SceneBeam, you accept it. An account requires a confirmed email address. Protect your sign-in details and tell us if you suspect unauthorized use. Purchases must be made by an adult or with any necessary parental or guardian approval.
For support, complaints and questions about this agreement, contact support@scenebeam.app. The terms presented when you buy apply to that purchase. Keep your purchase confirmation and the version of this agreement that applied.
2. Purchases through Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles checkout, payment, taxes, receipts and refunds under its Buyer terms.
The Halloween Collection is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The price shown at checkout includes applicable VAT. Paid access is enabled once Paddle has confirmed the payment to us; returning from the payment page is not itself proof of payment.
3. Private use within one household only
The license is personal and permits only private, non-commercial decorative and entertainment use within your household and private circle of family and friends. For example, you may decorate your home or use SceneBeam at a private family or friends gathering. A home window decoration being visible to passers-by does not by itself make the use commercial or an organized public event.
The license does not cover business or professional use, rental, resale, client work, ticketed screenings, advertising, use in schools or associations, or organized public events. This also applies when such an event is non-profit or free to attend. Other use requires a separate written agreement with us before use.
Accounts, access permissions and SceneBeam’s protected content packages must not be shared, transferred or distributed to other households. This does not restrict independent rights to third-party content under section 14 or rights under mandatory law.
4. Free version, purchased content and updates
A verified free account has no time limit. It includes Studio, Setup, camera functions and configurations, with Floating candles as the only playable scene and a watermark in scene views. The free version requires an internet connection and cannot prepare offline playback.
The Halloween Collection includes eight scenes. The purchased version and its bug fixes are included. Future major versions, new collections and separately offered additions may be sold separately. A purchase does not include a separate commitment to lifetime server operation, on-call support, event operation, adaptation to particular equipment or future features. This does not alter express purchase commitments or updates and other obligations required by mandatory law.
5. Technical requirements and offline playback
You need a computer and browser supporting WebGL2, functioning graphics drivers, and a compatible projector and projection surface. Internet access is required for registration, verification, new downloads and updates. A camera is optional and requires browser camera support, permission, and HTTPS or localhost. Offline playback requires service worker support, local browser storage and sufficient available storage space.
Test your actual computer, browser, projector and optional camera with the free version before buying. Results depend on equipment, operating system, browser settings, graphics performance, lighting, projection surface and calibration. No particular frame rate or identical appearance on every device is promised unless expressly agreed.
Paid offline playback must be prepared while the account has access. Selected files and a signed permission are stored in that specific browser. Test playback without a network connection in advance. Changing device or browser, private browsing, clearing site data or automatic browser storage eviction can make the copy unusable. Restoring or updating it requires an account with valid access and an internet connection. Offline preparation is not an account backup.
Configurations and calibrations are stored locally on your device. Export important configurations from Setup and keep your own backups. These responsibilities do not exclude our responsibility for our own defects where mandatory law gives you rights.
6. Ownership and license
SceneBeam, its software, scenes, models, animations and design belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use SceneBeam under this agreement for as long as your account has access. You may not copy, sell, extract or redistribute SceneBeam’s protected content or circumvent its access protection, except where mandatory law or the third-party licenses in section 14 allow it.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use SceneBeam unlawfully or to harm others. In particular, do not use it for fraud or spam, infringe others’ intellectual property, distribute malicious code, probe, scrape or overload the service, access other users’ data, or bypass payment and access controls.
If you use SceneBeam in breach of this agreement or the law, you are responsible for resulting claims made against us by others, to the extent mandatory law allows.
8. Your responsibilities for use and installation
You are responsible for equipment you supply, necessary permissions and following manufacturer instructions on electricity, ventilation, mounting and projection. Position cables and equipment safely, avoid directing bright projector light into eyes, and consider visitors, neighbours and people who may be affected by flashing lights or frightening content.
You are responsible for permission to use the location and any music, signage or other material you combine with SceneBeam yourself.
Responsibility for your installation and your own actions does not transfer liability for our defects to you or waive your mandatory rights.
Camera placement and local rules
If you use a camera, position, aim and where necessary limit its actual field of view so that its placement and use comply with camera surveillance and data protection laws in the country where it is used. Before starting the camera, check the requirements applicable to your use, including any lawful basis, notices, signage and permissions. Do not capture neighbours’ homes, gardens or public spaces without a lawful basis. SceneBeam processing images locally without uploading them does not automatically exempt your use from these rules. You are responsible for your camera placement and use; this does not limit our own liability under mandatory law.
9. Permanent account deletion
You can delete a non-admin account from Account. Deletion requires a separate confirmation: type delete and press the red confirmation button. Do not confirm unless you intend to permanently remove the account.
Deleting the account ends its access to Studio, purchased scenes and new downloads. Protected offline files and saved offline permissions in the browser used for deletion are removed. You can no longer update, prepare or restore offline mode with the deleted account.
The account cannot be restored. A new account with the same email address does not automatically regain previous purchases. Local configurations and calibrations are retained; export anything you want to keep before deletion.
Other online sessions lose their account access. We cannot guarantee remote deletion of copies already saved on other devices or disconnected computers. An old local copy does not restore an account or authorize new downloads.
Account deletion does not waive mandatory consumer rights, including any applicable right to complain about defects or request a remedy. Contact support for purchase-related questions. Purchase records may remain without an account link, as described in the Privacy notice.
10. Availability, interruptions and gatherings
SceneBeam is a tool for decorative leisure use. It is not sold as a staffed performance, monitored event service or a system for security, alarms, evacuation, medical use or other critical functions.
We provide no special guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation, availability at a particular time, or successful delivery of a particular event. No guaranteed response time, emergency support or standby service during a show is included unless expressly agreed in a separate written contract. Product descriptions and rights under mandatory law still apply.
For a permitted private gathering, you are responsible for planning, testing the installation in advance and arranging a fallback if the projection is important to you. A purchase or free account does not include a separate commitment by us to organize, fund or guarantee the gathering. These availability limitations do not exclude statutory remedies for defects or delay.
Technical dependencies may change and maintenance or updates may require interruptions. We must handle such changes in accordance with contractual and statutory obligations. Referring to an interruption or external technical dependency does not automatically release us from liability.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using SceneBeam at any time and delete your account from Account.
We may suspend or close an account in case of a material breach of this agreement, a reversed or disputed payment, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations. Where possible and appropriate, we tell you first and give you a chance to correct the problem. When access ends, the license to purchased content ends and offline copies may no longer be used. This does not affect refunds or other remedies you are entitled to under mandatory law.
12. Liability and limitations
Business losses are excluded. Compensation under this agreement does not cover losses in business activities, such as lost operating profit, lost ticket revenue or financial claims by customers of a business. The private license is not intended to support commitments to paying guests, clients or event organizers.
No separate event guarantee. We do not undertake special compensation obligations merely because a show or gathering is interrupted or does not produce the intended experience. This agreement provides no interruption penalty, fixed damages payment or automatic compensation amount for a technical interruption. Any right to a refund, price reduction or damages is assessed under applicable law and agreed commitments.
Statutory damages. If a defect or delay causes damage covered by mandatory law, we may be liable. A damages claim must be connected to the defect or delay and supported by evidence. Both parties must take reasonable steps to limit loss.
No additional guarantee beyond contract and law. We give no additional guarantee of a particular result, compatibility with every possible device or compensation for every expense or consequence a user associates with a show. This does not limit express commitments, mandatory compensation rights or your rights under section 15.
Exceptions to limitations. Nothing in this agreement excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for personal injury, intentional misconduct or gross negligence where exclusion is not permitted, or compensation rights under applicable data protection law. These limitations cannot override mandatory consumer protection.
13. Events beyond reasonable control
Neither of us is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control that could not reasonably have been foreseen or avoided, such as widespread power or network outages, failures at hosting or payment providers, natural disasters or decisions by authorities. This applies only where the legal conditions are actually met; it is not a general exemption for technical problems and never removes rights under mandatory law.
14. Third-party content
Third-party licenses and attribution remain applicable. The household-use and application restrictions do not limit rights independently granted under CC BY, MIT or Apache licenses. See Licenses and credits. Mixamo content may not be redistributed as standalone assets.
15. Refunds
You can ask for a refund within 14 days of your purchase, for any reason. Request it at paddle.net, where you look up your order with the email address used at checkout. You can also contact support@scenebeam.app and we will help.
A refund ends access to the Halloween Collection, including offline playback prepared with it. This policy does not limit your statutory rights, including any right of withdrawal and remedies for faulty digital content. Deleting your account is not a refund request.
16. Privacy
The Privacy notice describes the personal data we process, our providers and local storage on your device. Camera images and visitor positions are processed on your computer and are not uploaded.
17. Transfer, changes and disputes
We may transfer this agreement to someone who takes over SceneBeam, provided your rights are not reduced. You may not transfer your account or license.
New agreement versions may apply to new purchases and future use as lawfully agreed. Publishing a later text does not automatically change the terms of an existing purchase. Changes to an ongoing digital service remain subject to applicable requirements for information, valid reasons and rights when use is adversely affected.
Contact support@scenebeam.app first in a dispute. Where eligible, you may seek review by Sweden’s National Board for Consumer Disputes, arn.se, or a competent court. Swedish law applies without removing any mandatory protection available to you under the law of the country where you live. This agreement does not require arbitration or waive access to courts.
If a term cannot lawfully apply, it must be disregarded to the required extent. Remaining terms apply only as consistent with law and the substance of the agreement.
